the Farmland Museum & Denny Abbey Wondering what to do when the school holidays are upon you? Why not come along to our special Children's drop-in holiday activities-No need to book or any extra costs, just turn up between 12pm and 4pm WHO RUNS THE ACTIVITIES? PRICE & FACILITIES LIST OF ACTIVITIES March 27th, Paper Mosaic Picture Frames. Make your own picture frame out of colourful paper mosaic tiles April 3rd, Recycling Extravaganza. Fantastic Flowers - Create a colourful spring flower using recycled materials. May 29th, Scarecrow Making - Create your own life sized scarecrow for your garden. July 24th, Clay Day. Try your hand at making a clay coil pot or a farmyard animal. July 31st, Food and Farming Day. Come and get your hands dirty and celebrate the Year of Food and Farming with us. Discover where your food comes from and dig your own vegetables, find out about tasty herbs and collect a fragrant bouquet from the cottage garden, carry out an experiment to learn more about different soil types, and plant some seeds to take home. August 7th, Painting on Grass. It says it in the name! Don't wear your best clothes or shoes and help to create colourful creatures on the lawn. TUESDAY August 12th,Farmlamd Olympics! Can you face the challenge of the Farmland Olympics? In celebration of the Olympic Games in China come and have a go at fun sporting activities with a rural twist! August 14th, Medieval Tile Making. August 21st, Cow Day. Come and paint and decorate our cow models, make a cow mask, create a colourful cow drawing, and visit our dairy to discover more about milk. August 28th, Victorian Decoupage. Have a go at the Victorian craft of decoupage and decorate a bowl with an array of images. ALL OCTOBER "THE BIG DRAW". Arm yourself with a clip board, paper and pencil, wander around the site and draw to you heart’s content. Add some of your drawings to our display and become part of our Big Draw exhibition. October 30th, Monstrous Mobiles. Create a hanging mobile decorated with magnificent monsters, grotesque ghouls, wicked witches and scary spiders. |
