We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Café Supervisor to join the team in our Docky Box Café. The ideal candidate will have a background in catering and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves overseeing daily café operations, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere, and leading a team to provide high-quality food and beverages.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily café operations, including staff management, supporting volunteers, inventory control, and customer service.
- Ensure the café maintains high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in accordance with food safety regulations.
- Assist in the training and development of café staff and volunteers, promoting a positive team environment.
- Handle customer inquiries and complaints in a professional manner, ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Support the management team in implementing promotional activities and menu changes.
- Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain food hygiene standards. Completing SFBB paperwork as necessary.
- Cover in the absence of the catering manager.
- Occasionally assist with evening shifts and special events as required.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (desirable but training will be provided).
- Previous experience in a supervisory role within a café or catering environment is advantageous.
- Barista trained (desirable but training will be provided).
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, bank holiday Mondays and occasional evenings.
- A passion for food and customer service.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Location: Denny Abbey & Farmland Museum, Ely Road, Waterbeach, CB25 9PQ
Hours: Approximately 16 hours per week (Thursday – Sunday and bank holiday Mondays)
Salary: A competitive rate of pay, above the current National Minimum Wage
